Chebotar: It is necessary to form common directions, which are interesting for all countries, and then promote and finance them

The Eurasian Economic Union took place as an integration union, where there are no trade and administrative barriers. This was discussed at the session “10 years of the EAEU: effects, priorities, prospects” on the margins of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg.

Freedom in the movement of goods and labor resources has already been achieved. Thanks to this, mutual trade between the members of the association is growing. A lot has also been done to guarantee the rights of investors, new support tools are being formed. And now it is important to pay more attention to the production of joint goods, the creation of which should involve at least three countries of the five.

Yuri Chebotar, Minister of Economy of Belarus:

“Issues related to the formation of an agenda for the realization of joint projects. This is the fund we have discussed today, formed at the expense of duties. We are saying that, perhaps, within the import substitution agenda, strategic agenda, we should form common areas of interest to all countries and then promote and finance them.”

Today on the margins of the forum we are talking about the labor market and the training of highly qualified personnel to meet the demands of the modern economy. The signing of agreements between companies and regions is planned. The results of the work will be summarized at the final press conference.
