Delegation of Belarusian government headed by Golovchenko on official visit to Havana
The absolute openness is the main thing in our bilateral dialog. This was stated by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko at a meeting with his Cuban counterpart Manuel Cruz. A delegation of the Government of Belarus is on an official visit to Havana. Prime Minister of Cuba came to Minsk in April. Then we outlined projects for the future. Today it's time to see what has been done. And the visit confirms the status of excellent relations between the presidents and the peoples of the two countries.
Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of Cuba:
“We have historical ties. There are many things that bind us together. We support each other in difficult moments. We are very grateful for the cooperation provided by Belarus in such sensitive issues as food supplies, particularly milk powder, which is very important for our children to have this valuable product. And we need to move actively on other projects as well. Assistance from friendly countries, including Belarus, will help us get out of the difficult economic situation.”
Last year we increased trade turnover by half. In the first five months of this year, it has increased by another 20%. The overall figures are not great, but we need to take into account the entire external background around the two countries. And the main thing is that there are tendencies for growth and promising projects.
And there is such a success. An innovative Cuban oncological drug has been registered in Belarus. We were able to agree on resuming the production of our tractors. And the first contracts have been signed.
