Head of the Vladimir Region of Russia: Belarus is a long-standing and reliable partner
Belarus and Russia are on the way to strengthening regional cooperation. As our President said today at a meeting with the governor of Vladimir Region, the road is wide open here! Both Lukashenko and Putin always talk about the need to deepen integration, industrial cooperation and import substitution. The regions hear the signal. That is why delegations from various Russian regions come to us with increasing frequency. This time, there were active negotiations with the Vladimir region. In trade with it, despite the difficult time, we are going for a record.
The distance from Minsk to Moscow is 700 kilometers. You'll be in Vladimir in just 200 more kilometers. By Russian standards, it's not far away. And if you are actively communicating with the Primorye and Sakhalin on the edge of the continent, God forbid it. Vladimir is called the gate of the Golden Ring of Russia. The region is famous for its historical sites.
It is no coincidence that now is a crucial moment in the history of our countries, the governor of Vladimir will say at the meeting with the Belarusian President. We live in a difficult time. That's for sure. But we have crossed a line - we are standing on it, strengthening trade ties as well. That's what we'll start with.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
Before we start our conversation, I would like to congratulate you, your colleagues, the residents of our native Vladimir oblast on a bright and sacred holiday - Victory Day. These days we are just celebrating the great achievement of our people. Another anniversary of this Great Victory. I think we have earned it and we will keep it sacred.
We are also determined to win on the economic front. And in this regard the first visit to Belarus as governor could be a milestone for Alexander Avdeev. We can judge it by its busy agenda. The delegation even complained that tough timing and non-stop negotiations do not allow to see much of Minsk. But there is certainly very little in the way of tourism in this visit. Moreover, the level of requirements for the governors and the government are held high by the leaders.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
“Contacts at the highest level with Russian President Vladimir Putin constantly talk about the need to deepen integration, industrial cooperation and, most importantly, import substitution.”
"You know, we are doing quite well. Even more than we expected," said the Belarusian leader. - "I think heads of the regions and enterprises should be interested in it first of all because you are there, there with the people.
Everything that needs to be adopted and signed by heads of state, the government has basically done, stated Alexander Lukashenko.
"The road is wide open in order to implement the ideas that we have envisioned in the sphere of bilateral cooperation."
