Lukashenko: We managed to overcome negative trends in exports, but we must not calm down

In 2022 we managed to overcome the negative trends and to reach positive results in monetary terms on export. But this is no reason to relax, as the volume of exports should be increased. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on the export of Belarusian goods, BelTA informs.

"We have gathered to discuss the export of Belarusian goods. Last year we managed to overcome negative trends and to achieve positive results for exports in monetary terms. Of course, money solves everything, but we would like to increase exports piece by piece, as they say," said the head of state. - " It means that we sold less tractors, cars, potash fertilizers, oil products by the ton and piece than in 2021. Thanks to the fact that there was a dramatic increase in the prices of those goods that we sell, we have more or less positive results on exports. But the fact that we have not reached the expected level by the piece and by the ton, is an indication that we cannot be complacent. We have to think how to increase exports. Export is a currency without which the country and the economy cannot live, especially since Belarus has an export-oriented economy. We will have to sell half of what we produce in order to live normally.
