Lukashenko about strategy for agro-industrial complex: it's necessary to quickly bring exports to $7 billion
On November 23, the agrarian members of the government, Vice Prime Minister Alexander Subbotin and Minister of Agriculture and Food Ivan Krupko, submitted their reports to the head of state. For the last few weeks, despite the end of the active agricultural season, this issue has been under control of Alexander Lukashenko.
The main thing is that Belarus is fully self-sufficient in food, which is very important against the background of the increasing global demand for food. This year, farmers have collected more than 9 million tons of grain. And in general, the domestic market is fully provided with food, and the export is growing as well. The sum for 9 months exceeds 4.5 billion dollars.
What I am most concerned about is the future, the strategy. The current situation is already clear. We have discussed the tactical and strategic issues more than once. The strategy is the same: we need to quickly reach $7 billion in exports. Since there is a food crisis in the world, and the crisis is only getting worse, the demand for food will only grow. Naturally, the food prices will rise. That is why it is our strategy not to slow down in any way. And our market is sacred.
The President set a task to ensure the filling of stabilization funds. Alexander Lukashenko also emphasized that the population should be provided with food in full and at reasonable prices. According to the President, the main thing is that people should be able to buy food and be clothed and fed.
As for tactics, the President gave a number of specific instructions. The task is to identify centers where our flagships can help repair tractors and harvesters for farmers at minimal prices during the winter.
Alexander Lukashenko has actualized the tasks of land reclamation. Soil fertility is a government priority.
The effect of creating integration structures in the northernmost region will also be assessed during the winter. And also it is necessary to define what technologies in cattle breeding are needed for the future. That is, according to the President, it became clear that the agricultural theme was not postponed till the spring. The issues of the agro-industrial complex have been and remain the focus of attention.
