Lukashenko expects effective proposals to curb rise in prices from government and National Bank

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expects effective proposals for curbing price increases from the government and the National Bank of Belarus. This was stated by the Head of State at a meeting with the economic bloc of the government.

The price situation in the country became the subject of the head of state's conversation with the government and the National Bank. On a macroeconomic level this is called inflation, while on a microeconomic level people feel it when they see price rises in stores. It was noted that during 8 months of this year, the inflation was 13.8%, and for the year as a whole the government plans it at 19%.

"The Council of Ministers and the National Bank had to respond to such high inflation with tough measures to curb prices," said the Belarusian leader. - "Rising prices will offset all our efforts to increase wages and pensions. According to him, the real incomes of the population have fallen below the level of last year, by about 3%."

"Today, we need to thoroughly investigate the causes of the situation, both objective and subjective, and take a final decision. I expect effective proposals from the government and the National Bank to curb the price rise," said Alexander Lukashenko.
