Belarusian physicians constantly on duty in refugee camp
Given the inhumane conditions in which the refugees have been staying all these days, many of them need medical help. The Belarusian medics have been on duty all this time. Mobile brigades are constantly present in the camp, and Grodno clinics are ready to accept all those in need of emergency hospitalization.
People live in tents, spend nights outdoors, freeze, get sick. After a night spent on the asphalt in "Bruzgi," one of the refugee women felt ill.
Shelan Hidayat, a history teacher, found herself on the border with her family: her husband and two young children. Like all refugees, they have spent almost a week in inhumane conditions. The children became ill.
Dozens of refugees addressed the doctors last night alone. They were mostly women and small children. An 11-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with signs of complete exhaustion and his condition is now stable.
Tear gas and water cannons. Refugee families had to endure this act of European humanity as well. Women and small children attacked with water cannons, try to warm themselves by making fires and wrapping themselves in warm clothes.
There are special mobile teams of Red Cross workers who are trained and ready to work in emergency situations.
In the last six days alone, Belarusian doctors at the border helped more than 20 refugees from Morocco, Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Sudan and several other countries. And the clinics in Grodno have reserved places for those who may still need help.
