Case of coup attempt: conspirators were ready to spill blood of Belarusians
After 2020, the willingness of many extremists to spill blood of Belarusian people was dialed down. They received their full pound of flesh. Nobody has repealed the law. This week, the court hearings on the case of a coup attempt continued. There are five people in the dock: Grigory Kostusev, Alexander Feduta, Yuri Zenkovich, as well as Denis Kravchuk and Olga Golubovich. This means that more and more details are being revealed both of this high-profile case itself and the persons involved.
One of the main defendants, Zenkovich, pleaded guilty to all charges in full. It also became known that he is the only of the accused who agreed to make a deal with the investigation. According to the prosecution, Zenkovich arrived in Belarus under the guise of a law-abiding citizen, but in fact, with the aim of changing power in the country by force.
And the defendants came up with an idea of an armed change of power as soon as it became clear that street marches in Minsk had faded away. What's important? The conspirators were ready for blood, including a lot of blood. This has been admitted repeatedly and publicly.
The military coup in Belarus was the number one task for the conspirators. At the trial, a quote from Yuri Zenkovich was heard: "If he is not physically present, no one will fit in for him." To the prosecutor's question: "Who did you mean? "The defendant replied: "President Lukashenko". In the first hour of the coup d'etat, the conspirators (they use the word internment) still wanted to intern at least 20 senior officials of the country. During interrogation, Yuri Zenkovich admitted that he also made casualties among ordinary people after the implementation of the coup plan, which is confirmed by his past revelations to the public. It's actually very scary.
"The result of this revolution can be anything - it can be a transition to democracy, a new dictatorship or a civil war."
"At the same time, there are still much worse results than a civil war - the failed state like Somalia or an all-out war and disintegration of the nation, the disappearance of the state, its division between neighbors, occupation, incorporation, etc."
Shchigelsky is still at freedom. And his associate Yury Zenkovich is one of the main defendants in the case of attempted coup d'etat and plotting to assassinate the President. A person with dual Belarusian-American citizenship does not dispute: he and his associates identified the violent seizure of power for themselves as the only possible way to break into power.
"In Belarus, you and me, and Avtukhovich are probably the only ones who openly say that the way to solve the Belarusian crisis lies through a military scenario."
"Liberals like to say that violence is ineffective, but it's not true, violence is effective."
At the trial, it turned out that the characters who were identified in the media field after August 2020 were also related to the conspiracy. For example, the notorious Denis "Dis" Hoffman, who planned terrorist attacks and kidnappings and murders of journalists. He had a dual citizenship in Ukraine and Germany. The development of the episode of the plan to assassinate the President was his doing. Avtukhovich was supposed to be the performer. At the trial, the prosecutor read out an excerpt from the plan of the conspirators "Silence" - it was supposed to shoot the President's car with the Mukha grenade launcher.
"Yes, I want to seize power, because all politics is about power, and nothing else."
Zenkovich statedat the trial that Igor Makar and Olga Karach were admitted to the number of conspirators.
Roman Protasevich - he is a witness in the case - was offered to be a link between the headquarters of Tikhanovskaya, Zenkovich and Shchigelsky.
"In general, it seems to me that those people who call themselves politicians today, Tikhanovskaya and Tsepkalo, Latushko, Prokopyev, are more showmen than politicians. They do not fight for power, but make shows on YouTube, Telegram, etc., and real politicians are in the shadows today, and when they are ready to act, they will make themselves known."
However, the financial issue was the most important part. Zenkovich expected that direct money for the coup d'etat in Belarus would be received in time from the United States. They expected the amount of $10 million. By the way, Americans were supposed to come to the meeting in the Moscow restaurant, but, apparently, their information was better than Feduta's. The audio recordings of conversations were heard in court. It follows from them that finances were also asked from the Ukrainian oligarch Kolomoisky. In general, they asked for money all the time.
A hopeless situation of January 19, 2021: a conversation for two. Issue No. 37
"We need financial resources because we can't carry out such projects on our own."
The fugitive housewife Tikhanovskaya was promised that the military who committed the coup d'etat would take the oath to her. However, there was a strict condition for her - participation in the financing of the conspiracy. First, they asked for $10 million, then $2 million. But it was not possible to get such funds from the fugitives under Tikhanovskaya's wing, as well as Strizhak, who escaped with the collected donations. It became known that the fugitives knew about Zenkovich's political ambitions to become president. It was possible to agree only on the export abroad of the families of the military, with whose hands the conspirators planned to seize the power.
If any politician starts saying: "Believe me, I need your trust, only your trust will help us make a difference," then you know that you have an asshole in front of you who is going to have you. And if he does it, it's only because you are gonna let him do it. Don't, don't believe Zenkovich, don't believe Shchigelsky, don't believe anyone else.
One of the fragments of Zenkovich's correspondence demonstrated during the meeting says that "the one who organizes everything will share power and distribute posts and titles."
As you can see, in public dialogues, Zenkovich and Shchigelsky, sitting in the United States, actually openly admitted supporting military scenarios for seizing power. And in the comments, we often received an answer from ordinary Belarusians.
"Why don’t you shut up, you freaks? Everything is fine here, we live in Belarus, we know better, the rest are traitors."
This is what actually happened. Zenkovich came to Belarus from Houston to look for the perpetrators of the bloody coup d'etat - and now he is in the dock.
And yes, the Belarusian court will figure it out. The session will continue next week.
