Economic integration of Belarus and Russia absolutely does not threaten the sovereignty and national structure of Belarus - Mezentsev

Opponents say that every new step towards deeper integration of Belarus and Russia is a concession to Belarusian sovereignty. State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev explained in the program "Question Number One" whether Belarus loses its independence in these processes.

The State Secretary suggested looking at the experience of the European Union, where integration, according to him, is more extensive and deeper than the level of integration, which is achieved in the Union Treaty. "And if today we talk about fraternal relations between Belarus and Russia not as a response to the sanctions pressure of the West, to their reproaches, but as an understanding that we make each other stronger, it means that any threat to the independence and sovereignty of Belarus is out of the question," said Mezentsev.
