Experts on importance of deploying tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus
Vietnam had no such nuclear umbrella in the '60s, and we have all seen what the agents of democracy did in its territory. Genocide against the Vietnamese has gone unpunished to this day. We have learned lessons from history, so deploying tactical nuclear weapons is a good way to cool Poland's fervor, in the first place.
Back in October, Duda asked the US to deploy missiles in his country. And long before the conflict in Ukraine, Warsaw organized an endless open day for NATO troops. The Americans are content to pump the Alliance's eastern flank with their equipment... for money, of course.
Nearly four hundred Abrams tanks, 1,000 South Korean "black panthers", as well as 40 Hymars units, all of which are obviously not examples of good-neighbourhood policy. In addition, the former empire is going to double the army - 250,000 professional military and 50,000 terrorist soldiers.
Yet, Alexander Lukashenko's address to the Parliament and the nation brought to the Poles to senses. Obviously we see all the movements, we know the plans, and therefore we will fight back. Our columnist Alexei Volkov was looking into what Warsaw wanted... and what it would end up with. A small pawn on a great chessboard - perhaps this is the best better description of Poland's geopolitical role. The rich past and poor present are woven into the mentality of Warsaw's governing circles. Andrzej Duda wants a sea-to-sea power, between the Baltic in the north and the black and Adriatic in the south. He'll probably get something else.
Sergei Rekeda, Editor-in-Chief of Rubaltic.ru (Russia):
The closer Belarus cooperates with the Russian Federation and other members of the Eurasian Union, the more actively Poland contributes to the destabilization of the situation within Belarus through political methods and economic methods by militarizing its own territory with the support of the United States. This situation did not emerge only this year or in 2020. This has been a systematic effort that has been carried out by both Poland and the Baltic States, Lithuania n the first place, over the past decades.
The imperial chimeras of the "Rzeczpospolita" were further stirred by the American Mark Brzezinski, son of the famous Polish national Zbigniew Brzezinski. Last year, he was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Warsaw, and the American lobby in eastern Europe was given total control of events: Poland is increasing its defense budget to 4% of GDP. For what? Americans need a strong market.
Sergei Rekeda, Editor-in-Chief of Rubaltic.ru (Russia): Poland is a promoter of the U.S. interests in Europe and actually performs the function of such a hub for the accumulation of U.S. interests and actions to lobby American ideas in Europe to incite confrontation in Eastern Europe. Therefore, in general Poland does not deviate in any way from its strategic line.
The numbers are really "fat." Warsaw will buy almost 370 Abrams tanks. The price of one is about $10 million! Hymars installations cost $4 million, the proce of one rocket launch is $1 million. Obviously, pumping "NATO's eastern flank" is also money pumping. But the threat to our country is not phantom.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
They are preparing to invade the territory of Belarus to destroy our country. At the same time, terrorists are being trained and brought into our country to carry out sabotage and acts of intimidation. They are trying to create underground extremist cells to coordinate protest activities. Arms and funds are being transferred. Do you think that all of it is done just in case? They have specific plans and are not shy about talking about it openly.
In last year's global FirePower index, Poland ranked 24th. Five more programmes are in development: Harpy implies the purchase of F-35 aircraft. Homar will provide for Hymars, Narew is ground-based air defence system, Crook is the attack helicopter, and finally the deployment of Patriot anti-missile system under the "Vistula" program. Agree, it doesn't look like diplomatic replenishment.
Alexei Leonkov, military expert of the magazine "Arsenal of the Fatherland" (Russia):
The anti-Belarusian policies are pursued in Poland and the Baltic States. And practically Belarus has only the East safe, because there is a friendly state there - Russia. Under such circumstances, it is understandable that decisions should be taken that can cool the fervor of those who dream of getting their hands on the Eastern Borderlands, i.e. cutting off a piece of territory from Belarus that allegedly once belonged to them, or doing something else.
Hence the appearance of tactical nuclear weapons in the territory of Belarus - looks like a logical step in this chess game. NATO sends arms to Poland, and invades Sweden and Finland. We are deploying tactical nuclear weapons. After all, Western neighbors do not even hide their targets.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
A few quotes. Poland's defence minister Blaszczak, said late last year: "If Ukraine cannot achieve a decisive victory in the east, NATO should seriously consider opening the second front - against Belarus." At a private meeting, Blaszczak campaigned for this. And another madness: Major General McGee, commander of the 101st Airborne Division: "Belarus is one of the possible targets. The 101st Division is trained to occupy strategic points in the territory of Belarus. In the prevailing circumstances and the military and political situation surrounding our country, I have urgently intensified negotiations with the President of Russia on the return of nuclear weapons to Belarus.
Experts are increasingly saying that we're on the verge of a "Caribbean 2 crisis." Back then, it was the nuclear threat that made the superpower leaders sit down and talk. Very simple actions. Time and again, the President of Belarus calls for an agreement. We are all for peace. But we keep the weapons ready loaded. With such partners, it is safer.
