Gomel scientists develop drug to control bark beetles

Efficiency and Safety. The Forest Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus has developed a remedy to kill bark beetles. Specialists emphasize that the preparation is harmless for other forest inhabitants as well as for people. The development of this preparation took two years. It is based on a strain of a mushroom toxic to bark beetles - Boveneria bassiana. The field trials of the preparation will start this spring. Registration of the drug is planned for 2025.
