How Belarusian citizens will be evacuated from Gaza Strip
An agreement has been reached with the Russian side on the evacuation of dozens of Belarusian citizens from the Gaza Strip. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the consul of Belarus in Israel, Stanislav Venzel.
The Belarusian Embassy in Israel maintains constant contact with those fellow citizens, who are currently in the territory of the Gaza Strip. "We are accumulating this information, closely cooperating with our Russian colleagues in Romalla. We have a preliminary agreement that in case of centralized evacuation by the Russian side, our citizens can also be evacuated by this flight," the diplomat explained.
He specified that we're talking about dozens of Belarusian citizens, mostly women and children. It's not excluded that the number of those wishing to leave the region will increase over time. "We are closely cooperating. We have a connection not with all, but with a number of our citizens, who are now in Gaza. We clarify their condition every day, we try to help as much as we can. The situation there now is very difficult. Direct arrival to this territory is almost impossible," the consul said. The situation is also complicated by disruptions in communication and Internet. Therefore, the embassy asks fellow citizens to pass information to other Belarusians.
As for the evacuation terms, it's too early to talk about it due to the circumstances. "Everyone hopes for the very near future, but the circumstances are not easy," said the diplomat.
