Kochanova: Work with people in housing and utilities system should be given a high priority

Working with people in the housing and utilities system should be given a high priority. Today this opinion was expressed by the speaker of the upper house of Parliament Natalia Kochanova at the meeting of Vitebsk City Executive Committee. The meeting was dedicated to preparation work in the autumn-winter period. Today, all the services of the regional center are ready for the heating season. Also, the issue of capital repairs of housing was discussed. We need a comprehensive approach, from the hot water supply to the painting of facades.

Natalia Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus:

“The planned volumes for this year are practically fulfilled, except for major repairs of roofing, unfortunately. 65%, of course, is not enough work done at the beginning of the season. But as the officials, who deal with this issue, have assured us, the funds will be used by the end of the year and the work will be done. We have received a lot more appeals from the citizens of Vitebsk to the Council of the Republic on these issues. Therefore, we have taken under control all the issues that have come to us.”

The work of the housing and utilities system is an indicator of the work of the authorities in general. Therefore, there is a need for clear action to solve the problems, said Natalia Kochanova.
