Major crisis center of Belarusian Red Cross opens in Mogilev
The crisis center of the Belarusian Red Cross opened in Mogilev. This is first center in the Mogilev Region and the largest one in the country. The total area is more than 120 square meters. Up to 20 people can be accommodated here at a time. Rooms for accommodation and rest, kitchen and dining areas, a place for conversations and even a children's corner are organized for them.
Both foreign citizens and Belarusians, who have found themselves in a difficult situation, will be able to get safe temporary housing.
Andrei Martynovsky, Chairman of the Mogilev regional organization of the Belarusian Red Cross:
This is not just providing temporary accommodation services for forced migrants, refugees and other vulnerable categories, this is also psycho-social assistance. It is also help for those who have made a decision on further socialization in our country, who are in search for a job, permanent housing. We try to ensure that everyone who comes to us gets the necessary help.
Dmitry Shevtsov, Secretary General of the Belarusian Red Cross:
Our country is ready for any challenge, migration, whatever. If a person comes to us, who is simply from another country, and requires some kind of help, support, including the Belarusian Red Cross is always ready to help. But we must realize that these services will work for our citizens as well - to teach first aid skills, to work with our elderly.
