Lukashenko: Belarus responded to Western restrictions

Today, the Chairman of the State Customs Committee submitted a report to the President at the Palace of Independence. This is an important area in terms of formation of the budget. This year alone the State Customs Committee has provided the treasury with almost 6 billion rubles.

"The West imposed sanctions against us. We responded. You are entrusted with the most important function in the front line, in the economy - to monitor the implementation of anti-sanctions measures, that is our response. What do they look like for us today? What's going on in connection with that?"

The head of the state touched upon the issue of improving infrastructure at the customs checkpoints and customs technologies. "The European Union at one time financed some joint programs in the field of customs on our border. They stopped helping us and supporting us in this area and refused to implement the programs. They promised, agreed and then spat on it. Well, they are, apparently, entitled to it," said the President.

The head of state did not forget the pleasant addition to the report. Today, the Customs Officer's Day is observed in Belarus. The leader sent greetings with a wish to work with dignity in the future in this important area for the country.
