Foreign Ministry: Statements about forcible deportation of Ukrainian children to Belarus groundless

The statements about the compulsory deportation of Ukrainian children to Belarus are groundless. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Ambrazevich, answering BelTA's question.

The question concerned the statement of the Ukrainian delegation made at the meeting of the Third Committee within the framework of the general discussion on the item "Promotion and protection of children's rights," which argued that the situation with the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia and Belarus requires special attention and reaction from the UN and the international community.

"This is just another fake Ukrainian propaganda story," the Deputy Minister commented. - Just like the majority of other information throws against Belarus, this accusation has absolutely no basis at all."

Yuri Ambrazevich reminds that there are 11 UN agencies in our country. They assist the government in meeting the needs of Ukrainian refugees, including those arriving in Belarus with children. "The UN representatives in Belarus are neutral international servants and I believe that they, as well as their leadership in New York, have objective detailed information on the subject. I believe that if asked, the answer would make the Ukrainian diplomats blush," said the Deputy Foreign Minister.

"The arrival of any civilians in the territory of Belarus from the territory of Ukraine is almost completely excluded due to the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities. However, Ukrainian citizens go voluntarily on their own from the neighboring Poland, Lithuania and Latvia," he stressed. "Our statistics tells about 58 thousand Ukrainians, who have voluntarily entered Belarus in search of asylum since the end of February. The vilification of Belarus in the information field is a conscious policy of the current leadership of the Ukrainian state".
