Wreath from Belarusian Embassy laid at Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Moscow on May 6
The ceremony is traditionally held on the eve of May 9 and is timed to the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The monument is located in Alexandrov Garden near the walls of the Kremlin. The bronze monument stands over a grave of an unknown soldier, whose remains were taken out from the mass grave, which was found in the place where fierce battles for Moscow took place in 1941. Today this place is a symbol of memory of all the soldiers who died defending our homeland. It's no coincidence that on the stone above the Eternal Flame the words are carved: "Your name is not known, your feat is immortal". And the ambassador of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko noted that May 9 is a sacred holiday for Belarusians and Russians alike. External challenges and difficult times, which Belarus and Russia are experiencing today, have always only united our peoples.
The participants of the event (diplomats, parliamentarians and military attachés) also laid flowers at the memorials "Hero-City Minsk" and "Hero-City Brest Fortress" installed on the Hero Cities Walk in the Alexandrov Garden.
