Ministry of Labor: Social services will become even more accessible for people with disabilities in Belarus, some of them will be provided remotely
"In Belarus, social services will become even more accessible for people with disabilities, some of them will now be provided remotely." This was reported in the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. These are not all the innovations of the law on social services, which came into force on July 1. Compared to the previous mechanism, which took into account only the medical component, today when selecting a set of services, the emphasis is placed on targeted assistance. The principle on which the state is based is prioritized - the help to those who really need it should come directly and without delay.
Natalia Karavaya, Head of the Department of Organization of Social Services of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus:
“We have also envisioned long-term care. At the same time the person will be provided with medical care and a set of social services, which will allow him to recover more quickly in his difficult life situation. The law provides for the transportation of disabled people. This is not a social cab - it is a ride that will ensure accessibility of social services. It is provided only for those disabled people who visit our social rehabilitation departments.”
Taking care of people with disabilities is still an important aspect of the social policy of our state. Belarus has a multilevel system of support for the disabled. It is aimed at improving the quality of life of people with disabilities.
