People's memory and recollections of children prisoners - Reconstruction of memorial in Krasny Bereg begins
The reconstruction of the memorial complex in Krasny Bereg has started
Igor Rodkin, son of a prisoner of the transit center in Krasniy Bereg:
“My father told me that they were kept in inhuman conditions, they were fed very rarely, everything was performed in one room, they were taken in freight cars when they left for transportation to Germany.”
It was an accumulation and transfer station, where from May 1944 the Germans brought children from the whole district. Then some were sent as donors to hospitals, others - to Germany for hard labor. Igor Rodkin shares his father's memories. He was sent to the assembly point when he was 12 years old. Later he was taken away for forced labor. During his life he tried not to remember about that time, he told little. He said that it was too hard and painful, but the memory has preserved everything, so that it was possible to imagine hell on earth.
