National Legal Portal of Belarus becomes platform for popular discussion of most important laws

The National Legal Portal of Belarus will continue to be a platform for nationwide discussion of the most important laws in the country. It allows promptly receiving feedback from all the regions. So, a number of laws are to be brought in line with the renewed Constitution. And the Parliament does not exclude the possibility that the most important norms will be discussed openly and among the whole people. Also, the country is preparing a national security concept. Its draft is also planned to be discussed on the law portal. The internet site is the brainchild of the National Center of Legal Information. For a quarter of a century, it has been collecting and systematizing all the legal information and officially publishing legislative norms. And the portal allows getting a current cross-section of public opinion on the most important spheres of life.

Belarus is the first CIS country that has gone digital in communicating legal acts to citizens. They have been published only in electronic form for already 10 years. More than a hundred thousand of legal acts are available on the portal.
