Permanent Representatives to OSCE call to cherish memory of fighters against Nazism
A joint statement on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Victory in the World War II was adopted by the permanent representatives of 11 countries. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, the permanent representatives of Belarus, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan urged the international community to cherish the memory of the fighters against Nazism and not to allow attempts to falsify history and revise the results of the war.
"We strongly condemn the destruction and desecration of monuments to liberator soldiers and other acts of vandalism against memorial sites and burial places of soldiers and officers who died for the liberation of Europe and Asia from Nazism and fascism."
The OSCE Permanent Representatives welcomed the UN General Assembly resolution adopted on December 16, 2021, on combating the glorification of Nazism, for which most countries on the planet have voted year after year. As noted the document, this fact demonstrates the worldwide eagerness to prevent the mistakes of the past from being repeated, which can serve as a unifying agenda for the constructive future.
