Piskorski: Europe faces massive riots amid rising prices
The deficit and record rise in prices in Europe can turn into a real tragedy as soon as this fall. Polish political analyst Mateusz Piskorski is convinced of this.
According to the expert, because of the short-sighted sanctions policy of the European Union, the countries can expect mass protests and riots, which will undoubtedly have a negative impact on the reputation of many European governments or even lead to the resignation of some of them.
Mateusz Piskorski, political scientist (Poland):
“When autumn and the heating season begin, it is likely that mass protests, mass riots will start in the streets of different EU countries, or governments will decide to somehow change their sanctions policy: to cancel the imposition of sanctions. Otherwise, the government may be overthrown, because the level of expected price increases is unacceptable for most EU countries. Personally, I think that many of the European politicians are hoping that the special military operation will stop before the summer, and from the summer they will somehow start to establish, restore economic relations with Russia and other countries. However, if all this goes on (apparently, the Anglo-Saxons want this whole military operation to go on), Europe can expect mass disturbances on the background of rising prices, on the background of all these economic problems that citizens are facing now.”
