Political analyst Petr Svoik: The response of the CSTO was in strict compliance with its charter

The peacekeepers fulfilled their main mission to prevent a full-scale conflict from erupting. Nevertheless, in just a few days dozens of people were killed, including children. There was lawlessness on the streets, sponsored by NGOs with foreign handlers, and they were understandably silent while the blood was being spilled, and became active when it became clear that the situation was normalizing.

The operation was exemplary. The very fact that it took place has already changed the situation in Almaty. The arrival of airplanes and the unloading of soldiers and equipment has already worked by itself as a full-scale pacification. Everything went according to a different scenario. When the planes began to make regular flights, it became obvious that everything is under control.

- Why did the mission of the alliance cause inadequate and even aggressive response in the West? For example, the US demanded an explanation from the Kazakh authorities as to why they turned to the CSTO.
