Polish dissident, judge Tomasz Schmidt plans to apply to the Belarusian authorities for asylum after consulting with a lawyer, BelTA reports.

"I plan to do it in the near future," Tomasz Schmidt said.

"First we need to consult how on a legal basis this moment looks like," Tomasz Schmidt noted. - I don't know the laws and legal points of Belarus very well. Consultation is needed here. We haven't prepared such an official document yet. But we are on our way.
