Senators approve bill to amend Criminal Code

Today senators approved a bill to amend the Criminal Code at a meeting of the 8th session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly. The draft law corrects the approach to the use of an exceptional measure of punishment - the death penalty. In particular, it stipulates that the death penalty is not imposed for the preparation of the crime and attempted crime, except in cases involving the death of people.

In addition, the senators approved a bill on ratification of the agreement between the governments of Belarus and Russia on cooperation in the field of transportation of nuclear materials. All in all, 7 bills were considered at the meeting of the 8th session of the Council of the Republic.
