Shved: Criminal case against executioner of Khatyn Katryuk sent to court

The criminal case against the executioner of Khatyn Katryuk has been sent to court, Prosecutor General Andrei Shved told journalists, reports BelTA.

"Today I sent the criminal case against Katryuk to the Supreme Court to determine the jurisdiction. This is one of the executioners, who also took part in the burning of Khatyn, but escaped punishment by hiding in Canada. He died in 2015," said Andrei Shved.

According to him, in the near future, the Supreme Court will determine which court will consider this criminal case. Its decision will put a legal point in relation to this executioner. "His atrocities, taking into account the verdict of our court, will be known to the general public," he said.

The Prosecutor General noted that this work will be continued against all executioners "as soon as evidence is collected so that people, our children, will know the truth."
