Tradition from President: Palace of Independence opens its doors to children in need of a holiday miracle
Little guests were warmly welcomed today at the Palace of Independence. According to a good tradition, on the first days of the new year performances are held here. This is an initiative of the President of Belarus, so that this magical holiday could embrace and make as many children happy as possible.
A variety of children from multi-child or single-parent families, orphans and those deprived of parental care, and those who have distinguished themselves in education, public life and creative activities have been invited to the performance.
Holiday in the Palace of Independence
The atmosphere was a real children's dream: favorite fairy tale characters, master classes, round dances and songs. Also children from Donbass were invited to the holiday. They are currently undergoing rehabilitation in Belarus. They really need positive emotions and impressions. Each child received gifts and treats from the Head of State.
All this was worthwhile for the sake of those smiles and happy eyes. Hundreds of actors, including the youngest, colorful decorations and a Christmas Tree. A lot of adults tried to make this holiday a real success and bring faith in the miracle to those who need it so much.
The ball for young people, the Christmas tree in the Palace of the Republic, the action "Our children" and the New Year's morning performance in the palace are traditions which were initiated by Alexander Lukashenko. Every child during these festive days should feel needed and important.
All kinds of children's pranks are allowed in the palace. The children ran races, played hide-and-seek and acted out scenes from favorite cartoons. And also took part in master-classes on making Christmas decorations. They sang and danced together with their favorite fairy tale characters. And, of course, made wishes.
New Year is definitely a family celebration. But it so happens that some of these kids cannot celebrate it with their families for various reasons. Children from Donbass have been invited to the holiday today. They are undergoing rehabilitation in our country. Due to circumstances, these children had to grow up early. But thanks to this holiday they still managed to switch. They are grateful that the holidays are held in such great company and a warm atmosphere.
Belarusians have never been indifferent to other people's troubles. The guys from Donbas are our private guests. They recuperate, go on excursions, including those in the regions. The program is very rich and merry.
