Re-profiling hospital departments for Covid needs continues in Belarus
The fourth wave of coronavirus came to Belarus. The delta strain is still active. The increase in the number of cases is associated with a seasonal increase in acute respiratory diseases. Health care institutions are ready for the infected patients. One third of 100 thousand hospital beds across the country are designated for COVID-19.
We are preventively opening beds in each region. In Brest region there are 560 free beds. Some have more, some have less, but the bed fund is available everywhere including Minsk. Our task is to ensure that any patient in need is hospitalized in the inpatient department and any patient who is not in need is transferred to the treatment system or to the outpatient department.
COVID vaccination in Belarus
Vaccination remains a reliable protection against coronavirus. More than 1.5 million people have completed a full course of vaccination.
