Bashkortostan to receive 18 Belarusian bison - our country will help the Russian region to revive its population
Belarus and Bashkortostan will exchange experience in training specialists in various fields and cooperate in education and research activities. The relevant agreements have been signed.
The exchange of educational and methodological developments, introduction of new educational technologies are planned. The parties are interested in developments in the field of climate change, environmental protection and sustainable development.
Elina Gataullina, Executive Director of the Committee of Bashkortostan for UNESCO:
It is the strengthening of interaction on the climate agenda, on climate change. And today it is one of the priorities in the policy of any state. We have agreed at BSU on an academic exchange. The Republic of Bashkortostan, as part of the Priority 2030 program, has a program of youth start-ups, according to which the community of young scientists can get funding for their projects.
Alexander Chaikovsky, Director General of the Scientific and Research Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on Bioresources:
“We are developing and researching our native honeybee, we even have a cooperation agreement signed. What are our colleagues interested in? First of all it is the functioning and creation of transboundary biosphere reservoirs, the restoration of disturbed marshes and the functioning of specially protected natural areas.”
In May the first lot of Belarusian bison will go to Bashkortostan. We agreed on cooperation in revival of the population there back in the winter, we are talking about 18 animals. The sufficient number in Belarus gives us an opportunity to transfer these animals to other national parks to increase the population.
