Belarus to open walks of memory and create mural for the Year of Peace and Creation

Public associations will open the walks of memory and create mural around the country, BelTA informs.

This is only a part of the projects the trade unions, veterans and young people agreed to implement at a joint meeting, held today at the headquarters of the FTU. Large-scale initiatives will be implemented and coincide with the Year of Peace and Creation.

"I think each of us understands that peace and creation are basically the most important concepts for everyone. They are basic concepts for a normal human life. Only if there is peace, we can calmly work, raise children, make plans," the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Mikhail Orda emphasized. - And everyone must understand that he or she has to do something for peace and development of the country. And, of course, in this regard trade unions see their task first and foremost as supporting people's labor and creative initiatives."

In addition, the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, together with veterans and young people, has also planned a number of joint activities for this year. There are ambitious projects that will demonstrate how the Belarusians worked to create their country and how they defended it, not sparing their lives.

"For example, we plan to create a walk of memory in Minsk dedicated to the Belarusians who were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. That's 448 people. All of them are outstanding people. But let's speak frankly: today we know very little about many of them. And we should know and remember them. Because it's not just our history. Their lives are an example for the future generations. Photos of these people will be placed on the walk. Besides, the detailed information about them and their feat will be collected and generalized. All this information will be placed at the special site, - Mikhail Orda told. - Our young people have also offered to create large scale murals. And to show everything, on which peaceful life of the Belarusians is based, through such large pictures on the walls. This is an art form, which is very close to young people today. So, I think, this project will get a good response. It will tell you how the Belarusians make their history without words."
