Ancient brick with picture of musician discovered in Polotsk

The 12th-century plinth form brick with the image of a musician was found by archaeologists in Polotsk during research work in the Transfiguration Church. During excavation, an ancient brick was discovered along the northern part of the wall. There is a musical instrument in the man’s left hand. Presumably, this a harp. It is possible that he was drawn to his full height. But only part of the image was preserved.

Now the ancient brick is in the laboratory. In the future, the find will replenish the museum exposition.
