More than 80 % of healthcare and social protection workers vaccinated against Covid-19 in Vitebsk Region

More than 80 % of healthcare and social protection workers have already been vaccinated against coronavirus infection in Vitebsk Region. Vaccines of Russian and Chinese production are available in the region, and a batch of Sputnik Light has been received. Sputnik Light will be used for students and conscripts in the first place. It is possible to undergo immunization not only in health care institutions. Vaccination points are organized in large shopping centers, mobile medical teams are involved. They work in labor collectives, explain the importance of immunization and vaccinate everyone.

Particular attention in the region is paid to people over 61 and those with chronic diseases. Red Cross volunteers will help elderly villagers to get vaccinated. Their task is to inform the residents of small settlements about vaccinations and to organize the transportation of those who wish it to the outpatient clinic.

Lepel, Glubokoe, Shumilino, Vitebsk and Syanno Regions were chosen as pilot platforms, following doctors’ recommendations. 40 Red Cross volunteers will work there since October.
