Zyuganov: Every third Belarusian sacrificed his life on altar of our Great Victory
Victory Day is one of the main holidays for Belarusians and Russians.
And today, when our countries are exposed to undisguised external pressure, and people are trying to rewrite the history of the Great Patriotic War, the date of May 9 is becoming even more important.
Gennady Zyuganov, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Russian Communist Party:
Without that Victory, we would not be talking to you. Hitler came to kill, to destroy, and Belarus perceives it most acutely. Every third Belarusian gave his life on the altar of our Great Victory. Today, the Nazis, the Banderites, are dictating their conditions in Ukraine under the leadership of the Anglo-Saxons and NATO. They have fattened this hydra again, set it against the Slavic world. We need to unite and win. Our fathers won and we will win!
Nikolai Valuyev, First Deputy Chairman of the Duma committee:
I know firsthand many things that happen in our relations with the Belarusians. This is an example of the real unity, mutual understanding. We all think in the same language, we all share the same history and it is not the first time we stand shoulder to shoulder to protect our borders.
This year in Moscow, security measures have been tightened, so the traditional "Immortal Regiment" march has been cancelled. It will be held online.
But this did not affect the fireworks! Tonight Muscovites and guests of the capital will be able to enjoy the festive fireworks.
