Andreichenko: The unity of CSTO countries is in opposition to Western sanctions and blackmail
The Ukrainian conflict can be solved only through negotiations. This was the leitmotif of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly already after the meeting with the President of Belarus. Not only representatives of the organization, but also special guests from China, Vietnam, Iran and Cuba gathered in the "President Hotel". The expert community is convinced: the CSTO should play the key role in the new system of international relations, and the voice of Belarus as the present chair is important. By the way, the meeting adopted statements on prevention of an arms race in outer space.
Vladimir Andreichenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus:
“The unity of the CSTO countries is in the opposition to Western sanctions, blackmail. We must do everything in the name of our countries, in the name of peace, security, and the well-being of our people. And, of course, today it is very important not to rock the situation both on the external circuit and on the internal circuit. And, of course, we must offer our strategy - a strategy of security and a strategy of justice.”
The struggle for historical truth and one's own information field is also a subject for discussion by experts, because in virtual space, damage can sometimes be inflicted much more than in a real conflict. Our country is on guard.
Alexander Wolfovich, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus:
“In 2022, we counted more than 320 million cyber attacks on the resources of the Republic of Belarus. We were ready for that, we corrected our documents, we have a decree on cybersecurity, on some issues of cybersecurity. So we are ready for it, we respond to it, we go forward, we improve the state system of response to acts of terrorism and activities of terrorist organizations, we test it in practice, it gives its positive results. We are supporting and improving the forms and methods of use of the armed forces and other military formations in response to these challenges and threats. We are therefore improving the forms and methods of securing the state border.”
Politicians have also shattered another myth: yes, there are issues within the CSTO (Armenia urges the organization to be more active in resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict), but there is no question of withdrawal from the organization - the countries intend to stand shoulder to shoulder. This is evidenced by the plan of joint exercises on the territory of Belarus: "Battle Brotherhood", "Rock", "Barrier" and many others. Another important point - countering terrorism and drug trafficking - a similar statement was also adopted by the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly.”
