Belarusian diplomats in Vienna urged Poland, Latvia and Lithuania not to use undiplomatic language against other countries
Belarusian diplomats in Vienna urged Poland, Latvia and Lithuania not to use undiplomatic expressions against other countries. The delegation of our country used the right of reply in connection with the statements of these countries that Minsk allegedly instrumentalizes migration. The Permanent Mission of our country to the OSCE and other international organizations stressed that it categorically rejects these accusations. Under the current circumstances, with the unilateral termination of cooperation with Minsk on border issues, Belarus has taken a number of measures, which allowed not only to reduce the flow of illegal migrants in 2022-2023, but also to reduce it below the level of 2020, reads the statement.
Permanent Mission of Belarus to the OSCE:
Instead of jointly regulating legal and illegal migration, Poland, Lithuania and Latvia started to erect hundreds of kilometers of barbed wire walls along the border. Their border guards began illegally forcing asylum seekers across the border, using tear gas, gun threats, beatings, and forcibly sending them back. In fact, Polish, Lithuanian and Latvian border guards deliberately deprived people not only of their right to apply for asylum, but also of their basic human right to life.
