Lukashenko: Belarus and Russia can build special relations to everyone’s envy, while maintaining independence
Belarus and Russia are able to build special relations to the envy of others, preserving their independence. A statement to this effect was made by our President at a meeting with the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov. Alexander Lukashenko has reiterated his commitment to the values of the union and the desire to strengthen bilateral ties. This causes persistent speculations about surrendering sovereignty. The Belarusian leader once again emphasized: Belarus and Russia are two independent states. And this principle will continue to be adhered to in our relations. The Western aggressive policy against our countries has not been ignored either.
