Lukashenko and Putin announce 2023 a Year of Russian Lamguage
The working visit of President of Belarus to Russia is over. It turned out very rich. Alexander Lukashenko visited the Cosmonaut Training Center at the invitation of Vladimir Putin. The Christmas week began in St. Petersburg, where an informal summit of the CIS took place.
On December 27 the leaders of the Commonwealth communicated during the working breakfast. Once again, Presidents of Belarus and Russia coordinated their positions. In fact, Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin continued the Minsk dialogue. There are not many statements on the results. But what are the benefits of such talks for the countries?
The New Year's Eve meetings of the Commonwealth leaders were held at different places. Now the place of the meeting is the Russian President's native city.
If one can blame anyone for the lack of communication, it is certainly not Lukashenko and Putin. Russian Museum, an architectural and artistic complex in the historic center of St. Petersburg, was chosen as a venue for the meeting of the CIS leaders.
In such an informal atmosphere, the Presidents continued their communication in the wonderful interiors. They agreed to celebrate the year 2023 as the Year of Russian Language.
"We have a lot to talk about. I am very happy that on the margins of the informal meeting we can meet again and discuss things of mutual interest," the Russian leader added.
Informal summit of the CIS leaders is also an opportunity to talk face to face. Just a week ago there were extensive Belarusian-Russian talks with the participation of government pools. Security and, most importantly, the economy were at the center of attention. It turns out, the Minsk dialog continued in St. Petersburg.
