Lukashenko and Putin tol meet on December 19 in Minsk

On December 19, the Palace of Independence in Minsk will become a platform for the Belarusian-Russian summit talks. Head of State Alexander Lukashenko will hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, who will visit Belarus on a working visit, informed the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The program of the talks is expected to be rich. They will begin with a broader conversation. It will be attended by the heads of state and government officials of the two countries, as well as heads of ministries and agencies. In this format, the parties will discuss in detail the whole range of the most pressing issues of Belarusian-Russian integration.

Then the presidents will continue the negotiations in a one-on-one format, after which they are expected to make statements and answer questions from the journalists.

In general, the heads of state are planned to discuss in detail the implementation of previously adopted Union programs during the negotiation day. They will first of all discuss trade and economic cooperation, joint cooperation projects with an emphasis on import substitution. An important topic on the negotiating agenda will be cooperation in the energy sector. The presidents will also give a high priority to security issues, exchange views on the situation in the region and the world, and discuss joint measures to respond to emerging challenges.
