Lukashenko about Equatorial Guinea: A small country with huge opportunities!

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko sees great potential for the development of Equatorial Guinea. He said this at the talks with President of this country Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, BelTA informs.

Reacting to his counterpart's words that Equatorial Guinea is a small country, Alexander Lukashenko emphasized: "You are indeed a small country, but with huge opportunities. Some of the objects I have seen here are simply stunning in their beauty. I thought that it would be difficult for us to build such a thing."

Belarus is ready to cooperate, share experience, technologies in different spheres, and help with personnel training.

"I told your vice president (during the meeting at the airport - BELTA's note) one thing I came here with: I believe that your country, even having such riches, should not import what it can produce itself," said the President of Belarus.

"I completely agree," replied Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

As is known, with the discovery of oil deposits in the mid-90s, the economy of Equatorial Guinea underwent fundamental changes. Previously, it was agrarian and raw material, plantation-based, and now more than 90% of the state budget revenues are generated by the oil and gas sector.
