Vladimir Makei takes part in CIS Ministerial Meeting

A meeting of the CIS Ministerial Meeting took place in Astana. The head of the Belarusian MFA also took part in the session.

Vladimir Makei drew special attention of his colleagues to the importance of consolidation and joint efforts and foreign policy to counteract attempts of sanctions and other external pressure on the Commonwealth. The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry stressed that the situation, when the West pretends to have the right to decide for the entire world community, while putting an equal sign between its interests and the rest of the planet, has no prospects. There is a growing need to strengthen the unity and cohesion of the CIS countries in international organizations, in the United Nations in the first place.

Makei expressed his hope that the Commonwealth is going to support Belarus' initiative to hold a large-scale international dialogue on security issues.
