Regular flights, mutual trade and new projects in agro-industrial complex - Belarus and Kaluga Region expand spheres of cooperation
Belarus and Kaluga Region are expanding cooperation. This is another story of regional partnership. The governor of the region together with a representative delegation of managers, businessmen and even artists and athletes will be visiting our country for a few days. Today, the talks between the President of Belarus and the governor of Kaluga Region were held at the Palace of Independence. One of the objectives is to exceed the goal of one billion dollars in trade and achieve a more balanced trade. Sanctions only strengthen the Belarusian-Russian ties. We're revealing more technological potential, developing cooperation and launching new projects. By the way, the basis of trade and economic cooperation is the construction sector. In Kaluga, many things are literally made by the hands of Belarusians. The entire neighborhoods, schools, kindergartens, and other related infrastructure are being built. There are many ambitious plans in other areas as well: mechanical engineering, processing and logistics.
Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Ufa – the air travel between Belarus and Russian regions has been actively developing recently. And now you can get to Minsk from Kaluga in just over an hour. The first regular flight to the Belarusian capital was taken by an impressive delegation led by the Governor.
In general, Russian governors have always been frequent visitors to Belarus, and now they are even more so. The consequences of the sanctions pressure have only brought us closer. Almost every week, our President meets with the heads of the regions in person.
Belarus and Kaluga Region have set the goal of $1 billion in trade.
"In recent years - and we state this openly - our countries, Russia and Belarus, have become much closer to each other not only because of our relations at the highest political level, but, as always, because of our contacts with the regions of the Russian Federation. We began to work much more closely at the level of governments, enterprises and organizations, and to look for ways out of the difficult situation around our countries together. This has united our peoples even more (we can see it) and made them stronger," Alexander Lukashenko said.
The President is convinced that a significant contribution to the record-breaking trade turnover between Belarus and Russia in 2022 was made by the implementation of agreements with the heads of Russian regions. And the dynamics of the contacts with Kaluga Region is not an exception. "They did not stop for a single day, thanks to which we have created a certain reserve. "I will not hide it; our goal is to exceed the limit of one billion dollars in trade and to reach the full balance," stated the head of the state.
