Lukashenko: Now it is high time to set up cooperative enterprises
The experience of cooperation between Belarus and Russia must be attractive to other countries. We continue an active dialogue not only at the level of the heads of the Union State, but also with the heads of Russian regions.
Today, Mikhail Degtyarev, Governor of Khabarovsk Region, is in the Palace of Independence. He came to our country together with the business community: agricultural producers, industrialists, transporters and representatives of trade networks. The Belarusian President pointed out: despite the distance, it is necessary to build interaction. The space from Brest to Vladivostok is our common homeland. It was said that East Slavic civilization is one of the pillars and foundations of the world civilization. "We have to stand upon it, and we have to endure," stressed Alexander Lukashenko.
Lukashenko: now is the time to create cooperative enterprises.
The President stressed that the issue of distance does not play a big role now for the development of trade and economic cooperation. "We have normal means of communication. Therefore, we have to trade. And trade is the basis of any economy. We can supply you equipment, various machinery, construction materials, food and industrial products," the President said. - "But it is too easy. We should switch to cooperation. And now it would be great to create the cooperative enterprises. We are ready for you not only to come here and set up cooperative enterprises, we are ready to work with you in Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. You know our economy, Belarus exports almost as much as we consume. Therefore, we can develop some areas in other countries and regions of the Russian Federation."
Mikhail Degtyarev, Governor of Khabarovsk Region of Russia: In the current situation we want and are ready to build even more active cooperation.
The total trade turnover is now over $18 million. But it can be much higher. Now in Khabarovsk Krai, amid the sanctions pressure of Western sanctions, the emphasis is laid on import substitution and the development of the agro-industrial complex. And in matters of agriculture and the development of new agricultural areas, Belarus can come to an aid, as the delegation expects. The plan is to visit companies producing agricultural machinery, as well as road-building, municipal, snow-cleaning and forestry machinery, and, of course, our giants "MAZ" and "BELAZ".
