Alexander Lukashenko demands from Belarusian scientists to be ahead of time
It is impossible to rise to the next stage of economic development without a real breakthrough in science, and therefore science should be ahead of the time, not tailing off. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on July 30 at the meeting with the working group to analyze the activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, BelTA informs.
This group was created by the order of the head of state in June this year. It works on a permanent basis and should study the issues of practical orientation and effectiveness of research and development of scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, implementation of developments in the economy and social sphere, development of import-substituting products and technologies, export of scientific and technical products. Every year the working group will submit to the President a report on the results of its work and proposals to address the identified problematic issues.
As the head of state emphasized in his opening remarks, Belarus is now at a stage of development where no forward movement can be made without science. “Therefore, science and once again science,” he said. And Belarus is engaged in scientific research of both applied and fundamental nature. But then what is the reason for the creation of a working group to study the situation in the scientific environment, primarily in the Academy of Sciences? Alexander Lukashenko explained: “We give all the priorities to science, it is impossible to develop without it.”
