Alexander Lukashenko's team plants 80 oaks in Khatyn
Alexander Lukashenko worked at the Khatyn memorial today taking part in the national subbotnik. The place is, no doubt, sacred to every Belarusian. And the President pays special attention to it. Before the beginning of the work the head of the state got acquainted with the improvement of the memorial. They have recently rebuilt the church there.
Now there is a small oak grove in Khatyn - the President and his brigade have planted 80 trees. Alexander Lukashenko has been coming for subbotniks to this very memorial complex for two years in a row. During the last several years Khatyn was being restored, our youth also took an active part. Even the All-Belarusian Youth Construction was announced here.
A month ago the President visited the memorial on the eightieth anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy. A museum was also built there for this date. During his visit in March, the head of state stressed the importance of preserving historical memory. The museum itself is filled with many exhibits and modern interactive technology, allowing for the most detailed description of the terrible events of those years.
