President of Belarus congratulate people of Federal Republic of Germany on German Unity Day

Germany celebrates its national holiday. The President of the Federal Republic of Germany have congratulated the people of Belarus on German Unity Day. Alexander Lukashenko said that the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany were a real change of epochs and a hope for stable peace and security in Europe. People know how much suffering, sorrow and pain such a wall can bring, which for many decades has become a tragic symbol of the separation of a city, a people, an entire continent. Today we are back to the time of confrontation, when walls are being built between countries in the very heart of Europe. The head of the state underlined that the Belarusians and the Germans should do their utmost to avoid a destructive confrontation and to prevent a new catastrophe. And Minsk is open for an equal dialogue and pragmatic cooperation with Berlin.
