The opening ceremony was also attended by chairman of Minsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Turchin, director of the children's and youth sports school of Dzerzhinsk district Mikhail Yurkevich, multiple European and world champion in judo and sambo Yuri Rybak, winner of national judo competitions Valeria Trukhanovich.
At the end of May Dzerzhinsk celebrated the city day. So the completion of the construction of a new fitness and recreation center in the district center was in a sense a gift for this event.
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that Belarusians should take a more responsible approach to their health. "If every person, starting from a child, takes care of his health (at least minimally), there will be no need to go to the pharmacy and hospital. And in order for you not to go to pharmacies and hospitals, we are building 'health centers," he noted.
"It was once suggested by me to have sports facilities in every school, especially in rural areas. But there is a need for such centers as well. In every district, the demand for such centers is great. People especially want there to be a swimming pool. So we have built a good sports and recreation center. This is so that we did not live in vain, took care of our health.”
