Harsh rebuke by President

A harsh criticism from the President on the results of the storm! At the big conference call Alexander Lukashenko criticized the reaction of officials and specialized specialists to the storm and its consequences. The head of state compared the elements with the war - only without shooting.

“Such a thing in Belarus, it seems, never happened at all, in our lifetime for sure,” says the older generation of eyewitnesses. The disaster swept away, broke and flooded everything in its path for a week.”

The south of Belarus – Gomel Region - suffered the most. Settlements were de-energized, people were literally left without a roof over their heads. The President watched from the first minutes how the relevant services would cope, but had to intervene.

“We had to deal with it in Gomel, and everyone was sitting, waiting for something. It happened - no reaction. Until the morning and the next day - no reaction, except the usual reaction of power engineers. There was no adequate response to this event in a quick, clear, military way,” said the Belarusian leader.

The President criticized those responsible for the poor response to people's addresses.
