Belarusian Paralympians return from Games in Sochi with 61 medals

Today at noon, the Paralympic team of Belarus returned from Sochi with not only with emotions, but also with impressive results. In total, all our athletes have won 61 medals. They won 25 gold, 19 silver and 17 bronze medals. In the unofficial team event the Belarusians ranked second.

In the capital of Krasnodar Region, Paralympians from 11 countries have been competing for awards of the summer games "We are together. Sport." The tournament was a response to the suspension of the Belarusian and Russian athletes from international competitions. Apart from medals, our athletes set the world records and showed excellent technical results.

The Belarusians won medals in swimming. 16-time Paralympic champion Igor Bokiy took 6 gold and 1 silver medal in Sochi. And that is the best result among all the participants of the tournament. Grigory Zudilov won 4 gold and 1 silver. Dmitry Soleil is a three-time champion of the Games. In addition, the Belarusians took medals in fencing, athletics, table tennis and taekwondo. Summer Games are already declared traditional. The next start will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk.
