Der Spiegel: German Leopard tanks in Lithuania not suitable for war

Commission from Germany visited the repair center for Leopard tanks in Lithuania and came to disappointing conclusions, reports the edition Spiegel. It turned out that the German tanks are suitable for exercises, but not for real combat operations. We have to repair the hardware not only damaged in battles, but also just passed a couple of thousand kilometers - all because of internal defects in mechanics and electronics. At the same time, both Ukrainian and German officers recognize that German equipment is very difficult to maintain, and in combat conditions it wears out ten times faster than in exercises.
