Lithuania identifies Belarus as one of threats to national security along with China
Lithuania has prepared a new national security strategy, defining Belarus as a threat, along with China. The document names five risk factors. These are coronavirus, weakening of transatlantic ties, the desire of some EU members to autonomy, the threat from China and the security situation in the border region with Belarus. According to the resources, the prescribed response measures have not been disclosed yet.
Earlier, the Council of State of Lithuania supported the plan to increase defense funding up to the level of 2.5% of Lithuania's GDP by 2030.

For its part, NATO also urges members of the alliance to increase defense spending, including due to Russia's "aggressive actions". And it is worth noting here that the military presence of the allies in Lithuania may be reduced. There are also problems with infrastructure there.
